How much to charge... equipment in line of fire - 07-25-2005, 09:09 PM

An Airsoft store here in town wants to hire me to photograph some battles... A lot of the time I will be in the direct line of fire so I am thinking i should compensate for that.

I will be shooting photos and video.
They want me to put together a DVD for them as well.

I will probably be out there for about 6-7 hours a day and will probably shoot two or three days.

How much do you think i should charge for shooting?

btw, whats the average for a full day shoot in the houston area?

I don't know, but I'd definitely get some plastic wrap for the cameras and some UV filters!

You're basically looking at wedding level coverage there...you may want to use that as a guide.

first of all congrats on the gig...
you might want to charge a base hourly rate and include processing and DVD prep time. As for equipment coverage, most people assume that photographers are insured already so you might have a hard time getting that included in the cost, but it is worth a shot...
