Portfolio Question

I'm in the process of building a couple of different portfolio's (one for portraits, one for sports). With regards to the Portrait port, what are your thoughts with regards to the maximum number of images you would use of the same model? For example, this particular port will have about 25 11x14 images. What do you think - no more than 2 or 3 images of each model? That would give me 8-12 models in a 25 image port. Or, is it okay to have 4, 5, or 6 shots of each model?

I have at most three images of one model (Jessie Layne) in my book. And in those three images, she looks completely different. In fact most people are surprised when I say she is the same model. I have two others that each have two images included. Aside from that, it's one each until I rotate them out.

That's just what I do. Others are most certain to have different opinions and content in their books.

As Scott's answer touches on, a different model in each shot is slightly less important than showing variety of looks.. and showing only your best stuff. One mediocre or bad shot drags a whole portfolio down.... and you never want your port to look like you shot it all in a weekend.
