Fellow EM users,

How do we claim state sales tax if we used Pro-Lab Fulfillment?

Are you referring to sales tax that you've collected on stuff that THEY print?

Does this answer your question? From the EM website at http://www.exposuremanager.com/scrip....pl?rm=selling

Sales Tax
Sales tax is treated differently for Pro-Lab Fulfillment and Self-Fulfillment. For a pro-lab order, you essentially give us a one-time license to use that image to produce a product. We create and ship the product to the customer. Because you are not part of the physical product creation, you do not need to collect sales tax from the customer. We deal with the sales tax for California customers.

If they print it, no sales tax. If you print it, or if for example it's some other self-fulfillment item (poster, CD of images, etc.) then sales tax is collected/paid. I'd love to know if anyone using EM ever got audited to see what the state thinks about that though. :-)

If you do this, make sure you state that on your site.
The state requires you to declare taxes are included.
