one is for light backgrounds and the other for dark backgrounds...I have added color to the background just for GP...

h & w are very difficult to read.

I would try the images by in type like the Hollywood sign
an then find another script.

Is it possible to post the logo minus the colored backgrounds?

I like concept and the first one works pretty well. I would take a look at dropping the holloywood down to just where the text does not overlap and maybe making the star red. Also, if possible, extend the first downward stroke of the H to set it further apart from the L. Someone taking a quick glance would likely mistake it for L. Just a thought.

I know what you mean. It's hard to step back with an unbiased eye when it's one of our own creations. One of the great things about this forum is there are always opinionated watchers willing to help us grow.

I think the black font with a red star would really stand out on a white card or letterhead.
Did you do the design yourself? If so, you did well. Very creative.

okay here is another thought after reading what the few have said...

font is different, H and W are fixed, and the star is gold!

It's nice, but, IMO, not as impactful as the original design.

I would go with your original ones first...I like the idea of a red star with black font..

The H in Hollywood looks like an L to me.

Try original design with capital "H" and capital "W" (if you haven't already). It might solve the "h looks like an l" issue, and it would reinforce the fact that it's a first and a last name rather than a one-word city.

Here's just a quick hand-drawn edit (not done using the text fonts that would look better). I think the "images by" part should be less bold and/or smaller to give more attention to your name.
