No Free Images!

Ok, so I get an email from AA Advantage and they are soliciting "travel" images for their publications and web site. The email doesn't say anything about getting paid in $ or miles, so I click on the link and read their terms (knowing what I'll probably find there) and wasn't surprised by what I found, but highly irritated.

How's this sound for free use of your images?

(e) You will not issue any publicity concerning American and/or the Promotion;

(f) You are not entitled to any compensation or other payment from American in connection with the Submission;

9. American shall be entitled to assign or sublicense all or a portion of the rights and licenses granted herein and/or this Terms Agreement in its entirety, without payment to you.

I'm thinking of sending them a copy of this image. Do you think they'll use it?

I was going to recommend you send a transparent image, but that one will do nicely!

Looks like they are no longer taking submissions...link doesn't work. "Service Unavailable" - Back up. I am submitting the No Free Images thing to them. I think everyone on the forum should!

ha, that is ridiculous... but what is even more ridiculous they will get photos that the want and for free i am sure from somewhere else..

It's probably for non-pros, many of whom think that just seeing a photo they took used somewhere else is payment enough.

Still, it perpetuates the idea that photogrpahers work is free...no value. They should at least be offering a coupon or miles etc. to compensate for the submission and talent, as I know they probably aren't going to just stick ANY image up on their site. They will at least cull and use only nice looking images.

I like that two word image. However, I prefer a different two words, without the cross out.
