I'm having a rough go of it with them... Any experiences?
I sent them two files for a purse. They were files that I've printed before with Miller's, Simply Canvas, and VistaPrint. So, I've got complete confidence in the files that I sent...
They contacted me to say that the colors printed horribly. So badly that they didn't feel comfortable going forward with them. All the skin tones were "very, very pink." One of the images they said had a complete color cast on the entire print.
They asked if I wanted their photographer to see about color correcting them, and I said sure. Heard back a week later that the files are just too far gone. Huh?!
They requested new files with better color... I'm not sure what I could possibly send though, since the ones that they have look good on my monitors and from my labs. I e-mailed to see if I could send them hard copies and got back this strange reply:
Quote:
mike, we are better off with the jpegs. the hard copies will have to be
scanned in and then converted into a jpeg.
Maybe we do this. Can you send me a black and white. I have the color
from the other one. Lets see if we can color it on my end. If that
works, Ill send you the finished color before we print.

Huh? They said that the colors they're seeing on my original submission were too bad to use - and now they're going to use them to re-color b&w's? Not to mention, can anyone get better colors hand coloring than they would with a color file?
This was supposed to be a rush order, but it's dragged out incredibly long. I feel bad for the client that ordered it, and I'm losing faith in the company. I had heard great things about this company in the past...
Anyone out there want to offer suggestions? Reassure me? Tell me to cancel the order and run far away? Help? Please?
