Simply Canvas experience... - 03-25-2008, 04:44 PM

I am posting here because Simply Canvas only deals with photography businesses.

I wanted to simply communicate that some recent gallery wraps and floating frame prints I had completed by them turned out magnificent. I highly recommend them.

Let me know if you want more details on my experience.

Much props to Simply Canvas from me too! I have done several canvas orders with them and all have turned out wonderful - and Adam(???) was a pleasure to work with!

Yeah, my wife was a bit "ho-hum" about some portraits I had shot in terms of how they would look blown up, but when those 16x20's on canvas arrived, she was singing! She thinks my clients will likely offer to buy them; however, I certainly hope they can swallow the retail price tag:).

We like them too. Good CS and turn around time. Very impressive looking. And this is the kind of thing that makes people want it when they see it. Only surprise is that they chip easily. I've had issues with inferior canvas in the past (I paint)- the canvas was defective the gesso separated from the canvas and chipped off with the painting. It seems like that, but I wasnt sure. It surprised me. Anyone else have the chipping issue?

Do you mean chipping of the actual frame supporting the canvas wrap, or the print? I would imagine you are referring to the frame.

If that is the case, I would think that once you get it hung (assume you didn't chip it before then), it would be fine.

Nope. Chipping as in the paint or ink separated from the canvas and flaked off.

They were a sponsor here for a little while.. heard lots of people had good results... not heard any chipping results.

I've not used them myself, but I have used Canvas On Demand and they were also fantastic.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! We don't normally see any type of flaking damage to the canvas, sometimes the prints can be damaged through shipping. If so, just give us a call. Once again thanks for all the kind words.

Yeah, I figured any issues with flaking, etc... would be due to external stimuli, not the canvas print deteriorating while hanging on the wall.

Simply Canvas is great, don't get me wrong. I've been really pleased with them. I'm sure if I called they'd bend over backward. There are only a handful of companies that have my full trust - this is one of them.

Also, since no one else mentioned it - I did one of their webinars a little while ago. They had some cool templates that make marketing their stuff really easy and it looked totally different than anything your clients can buy at a photomill. Their software was easy to use too.
