Created a business card - 04-04-2008, 12:42 AM

So I created a business card (don't need one but what the hell) a while back and tonight I tweeked it with a new font I found and thought I would ask what you all thought of the layout, color, and font.

I like it, but the font is hard to read.

I think the fonts fine, but I don't like the bright yellow. IMO it's a little too much, but that's just me.

The font is fine... ok, is the phone number 1615 or 7675?

Is that jbase.com?

jbase.com/markjery ?

The word "Photography" looks like "Pbotograby"

Trust me, I have designed hundreds of business cards... and if it can be misread, it will be. Pretty fonts are great for big words on the cards, but very, very, very rarely are they good for phone numbers, websites, or other contact info.

I agree. The font is easy to read now, but with the actual size of a business cards it will be hard to read. I would think you'd want your contact info to be the easiest thing to read.

The yellow/blue disagree's with my eyes.

just my .2 cents.

Yeah, I didn't think about the size of the business card. In actual size the font probably will be hard to read.

Agree with the font issue.

I like the photo, but do you think everyone you would give the card to would realize she's made up like a football player? Especially when the photo is smaller, too?

To me, this design doesn't convey a message towards family or pets. I get the glamour message loud and clear, but that's totally it. Also, with one model, I'm tempted to believe that she's somehow associated with your business, which I don't think was your intent. I agree with the others regarding the font.

Overall, it just doesn't have a professional appearance.

Just my 2 cents...

I agree. The font needs to be something that's immediately easy to read at a glance.

Also, I'd prefer the photo be on the left and text on the right because of the way the woman is turned. She needs to face into the card, not away from it.

you guys are 100% right about the font. When I get back home tonight I will post the one with the original with the old font.

Todd
I kind understand your point about people not getting the idea of the picture but I was hoping the 7 on the sleeve would be help with the idea.

Bryan
I thought about that when I picked the photo and thought the photo wasn't to much over the top. I guess I could rearrange the listing to put glamour first.

John
The reason I have her on the right side is because her eyes are look back towards the left and I thought would be more of the focus. If that makes sense.

Thanks for all the input.
