Not the canned stuff. ;o)

I have a bride ready to drop money for a wedding photog. I couldnt take them so I passed them onto someone in their area. The photog has their spam filter set so aggressively that the subject line WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY from an AOL address was blocked. We get a lot of inquires via email. I have my spam filter set annoying low and get all sorts of offers. (Apparently guy enlargement is all the rage right now ).

Anyway, thought I would mention it here since we spend so much time and money on our sites - make sure your email doesnt block people who want to give you cash!

That's funny, I'm getting the girl-enlargement ones. They're def. barking up the wrong trees!

Just got a new cell phone and I'm scared to add one of my e-mail addresses just because I get so many messages (and that's where additions to threads I subscribe to here go). Spam hasn't been a problem for me lately with that one.

I think google got the best spam filter system. I forward all my email to google for spam filtering and grab what's good through it

godaddy email rocks! using email with your own domain name also helps keep spam down to a minimum. most spammers spoof popular domain email addresses: **@yahoo.com, @gmail.com, @sbcglobal.net, etc...

SBC/ATT Internet has just done something to their spam filter because my 'Bulk Mail' content suddenly dropped from about 150 a day to 10 on one account. And about half of those are legit messages that aren't spam! The same in true on my other 3 accounts. I don't yet know what they did, but most all of those 'enlargement' type spams and all of the others are gone!

Uhhh...NO! I get several hundred a day, usually, on mine. I have three addresses on my studio site, and one on another site. They get loaded all day, every day.

My wife just set up a new address for a lady on the lady's site. Got 300 spams as soon as the address went live. Now, figure that one out.

I hate spam, canned or otherwise. Its just a kick in the head to think that a spam filter would pull out the words WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY to a wedding photographer. Makes me wonder what I missed.

Hmm...I just checked my spam folder out of curiosity. I have several in there that came from the contact form of my web site. Apparently, my spam filter doesn't like the words CONTACT FORM in the subject line...now how do I explain to these people why I never returned their e-mail?

Everyone knows spam filters are a double edged sword. Mention you were so glad to find their email in your spam folder and cut to the chase. Apologize once for the delay, and move on. Jump right into what ever they are asking about.

I can't imagine any "professional" photographer using an AOL email account. Your own personal email address and domain name is so cheap it's a MUST!

I'm not sure that she said the pro photog was using AOL, but that his spam filter blocked e-mails marked "wedding photographs" coming from an AOL address.

Missed the point dude. The bride had AOL, not the photog.
