Who do you use for posters? - 05-12-2008, 02:17 PM

I am trying to find a place to print posters for me on thin roll up paper( think wall mart or band posters) Somewhere in the 5-10 dollar range, and not heavy photostock. Anyone use a service like that?

Well, Walmart does 16x20 on some pretty thin paper. Which is another reason why I don't use them for large prints. Large prints on thin paper will need to be dry mounted, heavier paper doesn't always need to be.

For that price, depending on size, perfectposters.com does a bangup job, but on heavier paper. The print does however, come rolled up in a tube.

I get all my prints done by bayphoto, but in no way do I have a price point quite as low as yours.

Dont get me wrong I am not trying to be cheap on prints because all the framed prints I sell are of the highest quality, but I am just trying to get something for the masses to sell besides unframed 8x10's

I think 11x14s or 16x20s are good sized prints for selling; however, getting a quick turnaround on 16x20+ prints isn't exactly overnight; Wal-Mart and the like will have to send them out to get them printed most of the time. Selling a quality product will set you apart from the GWCs trying to sell prints.

If you want to do black and white, you can get them at Kinkos for under $5.

If you are looking for mass produced 4-color print press type posters like you find WalMart selling posters of Hannah Montana and other celebrities rolled up in plastic you might look at http://www.printpelican.com.

I haven't used them but have been looking into them for posters and calendars. I haven't looked for consumer/BBB reports on them yet.
