Insurance Nonsense ... - 08-16-2005, 03:02 PM

Damn man I just got the quote back from Nationwide Insurance. Since I don't have home insurance and my auto insurance provider (I hate that term, it makes it sound like auto insurance is a gift or something) won't provide me coverage I had to go to someone that would insure me without it being a "rider". The quote? $850/year! Sure that doesn't sound like alot but it is a chunk for a part timer.

I'll have to stew on this for a bit.

Wow, that's really high. You might want to consider joining PPA; I believe you can get relatively affordable insurance for equipment and/or liability as a member.

Don't know if these guys can help you: Bryan Calvin Smith insurnace: http://bryancalvin.com/

We switched to them for our homeowners last year and ended up saving $1200 a year, and switched auto coverage to them and pay less than $100 for total coverage on a new SUV and liability on an old Honda.

They are located in Westbury (kinda south of Bellaire area, near corner of Chimney Rock and Bellfort).

Really friendly people, will probably be hitting them again soon to get flood insurance.

How much are you trying to cover? I pay $700 for no fault insurance... but I've got a chunk of change invested in my equipment
