Question Tear Sheets - 05-14-2008, 03:09 PM

Question, sorry in advance if this seems obvious.....

I have an image that was a finalist in a photography contest and have been asked if I wanted to order Tear Sheets.

Are these still used today in portfolios?
How many should I order (max 10), if any?

Thanks in advance for your comments

Tear sheets are rarely harmful and can make the difference in getting a variety of work. I suppose it depends on the cost and the contest. It does sound like an accomplishment and something to be proud of.

Tear sheets can be a plus.

Gail do you intend to use the tear sheet for modeling work or photography work?

Get them if you can. You never know when someone is going to ask.

Good question, it's the first I've been asked about them. The cost is $.75 which is nothing, I just don't know if I would use them.

It was the Annual Photographer's Forum contest......

Guess it wouldn't hurt to order a couple.

Nope (couldn't hurt), at the least it's a great souviner. As Janice indicates, it never hurts to have them.

Gail,
Get the tear sheets and put them in a scrap book. It something your kids may want to show their kids of what great grand maw did in the early 2000. LOL
Or better yet start a wall of fame. Have the tear sheets you get mounted and frame them and hang on the wall. Nothing speaks louder to a prospect than to see that you are a published photographer.
