I saw a link to them from a planners site and thought I'd check it out. You put your info out there and they email you when someone wants a "bid" for a photography job.

Listings and Reviews of Local Wedding and Party Vendors
Seeking the perfect local vendor for your wedding, birthday party, anniversary, corporate party, or other private event? Get real details, reviews, and quotes from thousands of local party, wedding, and event vendors nationwide quickly and easily.
i signed up to see what ot was about and since they said it was "free" to have an accout. but they won't link to my site until I link to theirs.. and when I get an email (see below) it cost $2.00 just to get the contact information.

Does anyone out here use this service (or any other like it)? Is it worth it? I mean it's only $2... but how real are the leads?

(I did a search here and didn't see any other topic about them - so thought I'd ask....)

Here is a sample "lead" I got in the email today

I cannot imagine bidding on anything. My prices are set. I do not do construction, I do not sell used cars. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Why would I want to get a wedding based on the fact I was willing to take less than everyone else?

Mel, I have used this. Almost all of the leads..probably 95% are for weddings. I don't do weddings, so I think I have only bid on a couple things. Didn't get them, but I don't think a couple bids is a good representative of if it works or not. I figure even if you spend $50, it would be worth a try. It's basically someone that gets you leads. So it depends on you and how much that time is worth to you.

I did just what you did. I don't pay for any leads. I have found that being listed with them increases my internet visibility. That's worth the price (free).
