What's My Next Step

Sigh! I'm ready to move forward in the world of photography.
I love it so much.....

I've been taking baby steps as this is a hobby and I'm enjoying the flow. Now I'm ready to take the next step in becoming a business.

I have a website www.black-butterflies.com (still under construction) it should be finished soon.

What do I do? Where do I start to become a business? What is the next step.

Go to your local bookstore and purchase a book called starting a business in Tx. It will help you establish your bussiness with all the tax info, dba, etc. Purchase insurance, join PPA. Don't expect it to happen over night.

I'd recommend the next step to be one of education, not launching a business. If the portraits on your site represent the work you are most proud of, you need to work on exposure, posing and composition a little more.

@ Eddiongton - thanks for responding, i will purchase the book this weekend.

@toverman - thanks for responding and critic. i haven't added some of what i consider my best work on my site. i just added a few images to help me orgainze where i want things place, it's still under constructions. portraits and wedding photography WILL NOT be my focus. acutally, two of those portraits were selected to display in a gallery show. but we all have our own taste. thanks again.
