Gallery and ordering question - 08-27-2008, 10:48 AM

Hi all,

Ok, well this is a good problem to have I think -

I just started doing galleries for people to view there pictures - instead of just offering a CD to all my clients with there pictures on them -

Well, now I am getting calls from confused customers LOL - what do I do, how do I order.

So I was thinking on each gallery I would add a "page" or a PDF file with ordering instructions and an order form.

Does anyone have any idea's or samples I could take a look at? I am not sure what all to put or add on there.

I am trying to get proof buddy set up on my site too - and not sure how that works - right now I am just doing a slide show, password protected on my blog -

Any help would be amazing!

Thanks

*New here thought I would just jump in and ask a question LOL*

Do you use a service that takes the orders and does fulfillment? Because something like Smug Mug (a sponsor of this forum) does this with ease. You upload your images for proofing, give your clients the link and password, and they order prints and products directly from them. With a pro account, you set the prices, the company collects it and will send you a check for your profits.

I am using bay photo for my prints - I emailed them about something but have not heard if they do that. Right now I cant afford to set up another website for client viewing.

So far I've found that there's any easy way to do things and a cheap way. Pick one, because they don't often come in the same package!

You might be able to try adding a page with ordering information. It's just best to require the fewest number of hoops (or clicks) between your photos and your clients' money.

Photoreflect is a really great way to handle showing your images and for sells. The software is free from Expressdigital.com. I have used other companies and was not sure about Photorelect, but after using it for 4 years I have no complaints. The only time it cost you is when you sell, some people don’t like letting a company get a percentage, but if you are paying per job or per image, it cost even if you sell nothing at all. Our studio does in-house printing, but if you don’t they have many labs that work with them.

Check exposure manager. You upload pics to them and they take care of the order taking, printing and shipping for you. You can set the prices of the prints and make the gallery page look like your website.
