Event Pricing! - 09-03-2008, 12:33 AM

I was wondering if someone could give me any sugesstions. I am shooting an event and will be selling portraits at the event ( print on the spot). I was thinking of doing 5 x7 @ $15.00 and if I do 8 x 10 's they will be @ $20.00. My question is am I to low in between or just not hitting it at all, and what would you sell them for? Thank you in advance.

For onsite printing, I think you are a little low.

I agree, prices are probably a little low, although what you are proposing is pretty standard from what I've seen... just to warn you though, people are probably going to look at your prices and complain how high they are!

I hope I am not hijacking the thread....when pricing event printing how do you compare the prices to your "regular" prices? Meaning do you price them higher because they get them right away? Do you price them lower because they get them there and you don't have to send them? I"m just curious as to some of "your" ideas behind your pricing ideas, not so much the pricing itself. Which in turn should help the OP

well I would think that since you are printing them from your printer and not ordering them from a print house it should be higher just because of your added cost. Just my oppinion

It is really two different business models. The $15 to $20 level is about what the mass production print onsite market will bear, I think. Note: don't count on reorders. Also only offer on size unless you have software that lays out the package, like Digital Express.
