Model needed??? - 09-11-2008, 11:30 AM

So I have been out of the "people" game for about 3-4 years, and have been focusing on landscapes and wildlife. I just moved to a new town on a beautiful ranch and want to get back into the whole Family/Senior portrait thing. To bulk up my portfolio, where is your favorite place to get in contact with local aspiring models interested in TFCD work. I don't mind posting on CL, but so far on threads I have read that is the last resort! HA! Any thoughts?

If CL is your "last resort" then you got problems.

Several of us have posted and can't even give away work on there...lol

Depending on what type of shots you are looking for will determine where you go. Have you tried OneTalentSource?

There's model mayhem and one model place. They are generally models for hire.

Try this site and see how it goes http://dfwphotomodels.com/

WOW! I go eat a sandwich and come back to lots of suggestions! Thanks! I tried ModelMayhem, but I'm morely interested in doing family and senior portraits that are fun and edgy. Plus not a big group on MM were doing trade work. Thanks again for the help, I will begin investigating leads right now!

If that is what you are looking for then www.onetalentsource.com is probably more along those lines. There are quite a few girls up your area that are always looking for pageant pictures and will trade for portrait or senior work.

another vote for OTS.

We've had great luck with models or aspiring models from OTS. They're always looking for a TFP/CD shoot.

I know you're in a new town, but friends/neighbors/church can be a minefield of people.

Model Mayhem is a waste of time as are many model forums.

Jusk ask interesting people at the mall, movies, resturants, parks,
and thousands of other public places. Everyone wants to be a star
but if you stick to fourms or CL you will pay in stars.

Here's a novel thought. Find a real senior or family and photograph them. I have been to Pilot point on several occasions and saw that seniors and families were all over the place. Just be up front and you will probably find many willing candidates at the local Dairy Queen or Sonic or whatever.

you can shoot my fiance and I, we're wanting to get some engagement shots done. If it's free, I'm totally down.
We live in Denton.

Hey.. I saw that you shot Kathleen (UNT) a while back (on her Myspace page). I just finished working with her and the rest of the Stars Ice Girls this past weekend. She's a fun person.
