For anyone else out there looking for this information I have no problem sharing what I found

Standard commercial service contract: http://www.johngress.com/info/contract.php

Standard Photography Forms of all kinds:
http://www.reedservices.com/standard.htm

And, of course, the book that Andrew suggested above (which has been of great value to me on all things business contract related) http://books.google.com/books?hl=en&...result#PPP1,M1

Thorpe was supportive of DaShell which is a form of help. You, on the other hand, provided nothing positive to the discussion.

People come to TPF because it is a very friendly environment and posts/responses like the ones you posted in this thread run contrary to that ideal. Not everyone on TPF has the same skillset or experience. Please keep that in mind and if your only contribution to a thread is going to be "just google it", please consider not posting anything at all.

Thank you.

Just to put in my $0.05 (inflation happens), while I'm all for people searching for their own answers, I don't think "Google it" is an appropriate response when talking about legal documents such as binding contracts. Call me crazy, but while there might be some great information out there, there's also a lot of bad and wrong information.

And taking a business class isn't always enough to get your where you need to be concerning issues like this. That's why lawyers usually write contracts and not businessmen and women.

And, then, there's always the tactful and respectful approach that can be used in the future, like... "Here's what I found on Google: http://books.google.com/books?hl=en&...result#PPP1,M1..." which hints to the OP that maybe they could have found it for themselves...

that's what I usally do. or is it "don't do".

I can only wonder though, how anyone puts out a bid on a job, without being prepared to win it.
Besides, google returns the needed information in the very first page of links.
so there.
It's been fun.

I didn't technically "put out a bid" for this particular job. I was recommended by their internet development company and asked to submit a bid, which I did. I honestly didn't think anything would come of it and after a month of hearing nothing I kinda forgot about it. I am NOT a commercial photographer, but I have no question about my ability to give this client the images they want, just how to go about the legalities of the negotiation "dance".

It is unfortunate that there have been far too many misunderstandings here, just know that I took no offense from any of your comments and I truly do appreciate you taking the time to comment.

No need to worry, Mickie, as TPF is and always will be a great place. But, like any family, we have our quibbles. <--- first time I've ever used that word in my life!!

Thanks, same here. I have been around here long enough to know you have some nice skills, and I am glad that you have a new customer. I also know that as far as advice goes, TPF is not exactly the hangout of, but a few actual practicing professionals.

the off topic comments did not start with me.... As you know at this time, every contract requires manipulation for almost every customer's needs...and so that why I just gave the (contrite?) "google search thing"...knowing you would have to fire up the word processor.

Best Wishes to you and your family.
