Picture Hosting

Is this the simplest way to begin a photography business?

Can you make any money going this direction?

Are there any "keys to success" or books/articles that guide someone starting here with "what to do" and "what not to do"?

I know there are lots of optional companies for hosting from looking at other postings on this site. Very helpful. However, they typically give characteristics and not what other photographers like/dislike about a particular hosting company. Is orderpicture.com as good or better than most?

Is it better to shoot a variety of events and categories of photography or specialize? Do some event types generate more money than others?

Any other gotcha's?

Online picture hosting is a small part of a photography business. Typically very, very small. So many questions!

I use Flickr for non-biz stuff.

Things that I hope to make money from I use Pictage. So far, I'm not to happy with their service or site. I'm looking for something different.
