No Show Model List in TX - 10-22-2008, 03:49 PM

No Show Models

I've heard about it and I've seen it first hand. I have my list and many have theirs. The ones that contact you, never show or cancel after the fact.

I'm going to take a poll to see if anyone is interested before starting a No Show Model List.

Should we have one available; I personally never set up a shoot with one model because of their unpredictiblity; Multiple models are better.

This is in no way bashing Models, just sharing information of previous experience.

Too much liability for the forum. I'm quite sure Abel will be against it here.

I keep my own private one

I know it's been shot down on Model Mayhem...it's considered bashing in a sense...but I know on there that you can add something to the effect of a "not recommended" list on your profile (without giving specifics...then people can contact you for details).

I, personally, don't think a "list" is a good thing because there can always be extenuating circumstances. I honestly have not had a "no show" with a no call or no contact. I've had them run late, but they always call to say they are....maybe I'm one of the lucky ones. I also think you find the "no shows" more prevalent in group shoot situations where they think "naw. they have other models and I won't be missed..so I'm not going to go" kinda thing.

Just my two pennies which is now worth about 1/2 a cent..LOL

Doesnt OMP have something on it - where you can recommend or not? Maybe a thread of good models would be more valuable?

I think it is more suitable in a model finding orientated forum rather than here.
It would be a good source to have.

Had someone stand me up 2 weekends ago, no call, no show.

Drove 30 minutes out of my way to meet them.

I am so down for a list. SOME Models just think we have time coming out of nowhere.

Let's put the shoe on the other foot...

How would you like your name on a list (that you have no control over) for maybe not delivering images? Or maybe some other reason?

Trust me, I've had more no-shows than I can even count. I've even been stupid enough to get stood up twice by the same model after I was promised that she would show up. But these kind of public lists can only make the list members look bad. What about a list of both positive and negative feedback. That's much more fair IMHO.

I still don't think we need that here. Of course, YMMV.

Still leaves you open for problems.

How about just a list of models you would refer to someone else... only positives, and only allowed to add the person if you actually shot them. Could even include a link to a pic or two from the shoot.

I think a blacklist is a bad idea for more than one reason. I think a positive list is also a bad idea because many people may contact a model without his or her permission. So my vote is to not get into this type of thing.
