Green marketing - 12-23-2008, 01:02 PM

Saw this story on MSN about green businesses, and one was a photo business.

See story here.

And on their Web site, many of the things they do (digital instead of film, online proofing galleries, rechargeable batteries, etc.) are things most of us probably do anyway.

Pretty clever way to market yourself considering much of what they call "green" is just a standard way of doing business.

Theoretically, all of us, as photographers, could call ourselves 'green'. We do use re-chargables, I'm sure we recycle, right?
Plus, if you use Finao albums, you can really call yourself a green company since you use 'green' albums. (Finao has some albums that are all from natural material, fully recyclable)

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh go hug a tree already, this whole "green" thing has gotten WAYYYYY out of hand. Pretty soon we're gonna have to buy Carbon Credits as another form of tax. I just dont get it, Im not a pour my used motor oil on the ground and burn my old tires kinda guy. I understand the idea of trying to conserve the resources we have and not to litter but to say my company is "Green" just to attract hippie customers is silly. This whole "Green" thing will go away if the cost of energy gets cheap. I wasnt alive but I believe the same thing happened after the 1970's oil crunch.
