Totally meaningless (sorry) without some background with regard to:

- Original vs. new price
- Timing of change
- Trend year over year
- Any advertising or offers at the same time

The aforementioned list seems irrelevant. It probably isnt, but I have not noted any congruency in price hike %, timing, and there are no offers or changes in ads. And we track EVERYTHING, so something should be obvious.

Pricing (generally speaking) typically has a sweet spot, where items sell better at a set point. That isnt happening here, at least not in regard to the session fee, which was what the original post was referring to.

Its been this way for several years. I think this phenomenon has more to do with people wanting what they cannot have, over price considerations. It seems to be a knee-jerk reaction. Its mostly an observation, not a business practice, of course. If I did it on purpose, it probably wouldnt work. Murphy's Law...or something like that.

I've seen this in all sorts of industries.. including the software industry I used to love so much. We'd raise prices and our total *volume* would go up.. it was crazy. Perceived value is amazing sometimes.

The rule of thumb we used in software was that if no one complained about your price being too high, it was probably too low.

I'm about to revamp my offerings.. never mind pricing, yet... LOL
