First thing that came to mind was that they are diggin' dinner, wine, expensive jewelry. Then, you get them home and try to do the baby plan thing.

I don't take things too seriously. There should always be humor in any endeavor. I've never understood how some people can get by without a stitch of a sense of humor...
I have been dating one of those people for 11 years. She has lots of other wonderful features that make up for it. But, she has no idea what I am saying half the time.

I don't have a "baby plan" yet, but if I need one I'll return to this thread for advice.

If you are wanting to fish with a net rather than a fishing pole I would suggest working with an ObGyn to offer a complimentary or low priced maternity and/or newborn session. You can put restrictions on these sessions to weed out prospects that don't fit your ideal client profile. From those that respond and give you a good order offer them a baby's first year program for $XX.00 that includes either three or four additional sessions. At each session order time offer unique products for that age.

That's OK Tom, nobody takes you seriously at all.

I'm not looking to pull in too many baby clients, but I started with seniors, then they became brides, and now they are having babies so I just wanna have something cool to offer them.

Tom, I gotta have a boyfriend that turns into a hubby before I can have my own personal baby plan. lol

People have their baby plans functioning differently to do different things. Some pull in new or more clients, while others try to get the same client coming back more often.

Shelby Lane has a baby plan that is right on the mark, imho.

When ever you do a plan like that, it should turn into a win: win situtation. It helps you get more sessions, thereby more sales. And it helps them by giving them a little something in return.

Some people offer a free album at the end of the year, assuming that they did a big baby plan and brought the child in each month. Some people offer a free 8x10 with each session. Some people waive the session fees.

I don't do baby plans. Ive had a better go keeping all sessions al la carte. With that in mind, Ive had a lot of luck offering board books. Its 12 pages long and is a little 5x5 board book. The moms LOVE them. I make them available when the client spends X amount of money. Giving them away with the session was a mistake, b/c then they wouldnt buy prints. They just wanted the book.

So make sure you put within reach, what they really want, but dont give it away. Use incentives to stair-step them up to the next thing. We are al la carte and still do that. They can't get that little book without a print purchase of $X. Offer a little perk for doing the baby plan, but nothing that will cut your profits so that you cant wait for the baby plan to be over.

Great info here. Do good work with the little ones, and that can lead to family portraits, senior photos and more weddings ... life-long customers, something I aspire to.

As for my personal "baby plan," that ship has sailed. Two kids=just right. :-)
