I am in negotiations with a major network for some of my photos of someone who was involved in a shooting recently. They are asking for a license for all their products, worldwide, and forever...anyone have a clue about pricing?

Wow, I've read about a similar event in the "twin cities" area.

I was wondering how much the Photog would charge for usage rights. I would assume it would be hefty, and the photographer would have a fair amount of leverage seeing as how that's the only photos of the incident and they're darn good ones too.
If I were you, I'd contact PPA and see what they suggest. I'm not sure what they'd say if you're not a member, but it may be worth signing up for their assistance. I dunno.

This may be a commodity that quickly loses value as it becomes less newsworthy. If they have already made you a reasonable offer I would suggest that it is not their best and final offer so I might counter offer at twice the initial offer.

Another idea would be to get an offer from a competing network and start a bidding war.
