Name badges? Embroidered shirts ? - 01-19-2009, 09:28 PM

I notice that a lot of my fellow photogs have embroidered shirts with the company or photographers name.
Is this effective, efficient ?

I am thinking a more practical alternative would be a nice big name badge with the company logo, name, etc.

I have a tendency to mess up shirts, and the embroidering can be costly.
I could move name badges to whatever I was wearing.

Is it hokey ?

Name tags have no class, embroidery does.

Unless of course if your clients are all name badge companies.

If my tongue was that sexy, I'd use it as a company logo for sure...

I dunno, I see name badges on Realtors, Chamber Members, Rotarians, employees at Kroger, Target, doctors, flight attendants...

Of course, if you hang things from your neck (meters, loupes, cameras) they get caught on tags. Not so much on embroid.

I think it depends on the nametag. If it's a self-stick model with your name written in Sharpie, not so much. But a classy shiny one with your name and business name on it? Go for it!

This is Texas, so you could probably get by with having your name on the back of your belt, too. And maybe a rodeo-champ-sized buckle on the front with your studio name.

My shirts have a little polo horse on them. However, I don't work for Scott... :)

The company that I worked for when I first came to Texas changed names so often, we joked that they should put the logos on with Velcro!
