So here are my questions.

#1. How much is the going rate for doing something like this???

#2. What is the legality of working on someones stuff???

#3. Do I need to contact the other photographer to get permission??[/QUOTE]

1) As in everything we do, "it depends" but I'd say anywhere from $25-$75 an hour - or you could price "per image"

2) and 3) - depends on the photo release - if it says something like :

"unrestricted permission in respect of photographic portraits or pictures that he/she has had taken to use re-use, publish, and re-publish the same in whole or in part, individually or in any and all media now or hereafter known, and for any purpose whatsoever, for illustration, promotion, art, editorial, advertising and trade, or any other purpose whatsoever without restriction as to alteration"

Then you should be good - but I'd double check with a lawyer....

I have decided NOT to do this for this lady. I would love to be able to help her out, but I just really don't have time right now.

Does anyone know of any companies that do this?

You could send her to a student at a college... less worried about legal issues and likes extra cash.
