Eliminated one area of photography for myself - 02-26-2009, 10:07 PM

That'd be sports shooting. Unfortunately, I have the kid that plays every bloody sport that has EVER been invented, and darn it if I'm not the only one showing up with a camera.

I hate sports by the way. Did I mention that? I know just enough to keep people from GUESSING that I hate sports. My kid would NEVER know I hate sports... I support HER doing whatever she wants for the most part...I was the geeky fat kid who preferred the library to the gym...

But seriously... I 'understand' the way softball works. They hit the ball, they either catch it, or they don't, if they catch it, they throw it back to get the kid out.

Sounds easy, right?

It freaking is not!!!!!

So I eliminated an area of photography for myself.

And to those of you who shoot stuff like this - my hats off to you!

But you know you have to take SOME photos from time to time of your daugher! Just do it with a point and shoot.

Heh .. just wait.

There's *nothing* more rewarding than a 7th grade band concert.

I've earned my wings darlin....

She started on on the recorder.

Who the heck came up with that name? Cause honestly, I don't want to record ANYTHING that comes out of that thing.

Seriously.

*UUUGGGHHH*

Fortunately, I apparently have 'wonderkid'... she is the 'only' 6th grader in Advanced Band, AND she's the only girl drummer in the drum line....

She plays sports, she loves music, she missed straight A's by 3 points in Science... she's involved in church stuff...it scares me silly.

Cause I have another one....... who is just 18 months old (10 year difference between my girls).... and SHE is her daddy reincarnate.....if it's locked, bolted down, or not 'hers' ..... she gets to it, climbs into it, unscrews it, and calls it 'MINE'.

I know WAY to many people with one 'good' kid... and one 'holy crap' kid... lol...

Heh .. my daughter was the only girl drummer, too.. until she encountered a psycho band director in 7th grade and was done with band.

And I have those two kids, too. I feel your pain... only my daughter is almost 14.. and son almost 19... she's the good one. LOL

SEE!!!!

Hopefully we'll avoid the 'psycho' band director. She really enjoys it right now.

There seem to be a lot of them at the 7th grade level.. my son encountered one, too. (Different one, too.)

My granddaughter does Highland dancing in colorful costumes. Usually done in poor lighting unless it's an outside event. This was taken in Plano, she's closest to the camera.
Everybody shows up with a camera due to the color and the pipe band.

At least it is not a sporting event, but grandpa still has to show up each time she dances.

It's a lovely day.
