Going to be working a booth with a friend, any suggestions on how to run a charity/ fund raiser event? How do you collect the money, get the prints to the people, etc. Do you typically build in any profit? Do you collect money at time of the event, do you print on site, order off your site? Do you have any good resources on how to conduct a charity/fund raising booth. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated.

I usually run it just like a prom. Usually couple shots. We offer 5 packages at a slightly higher price than proms and pay a commission to the charity. We either deliver to the charity for distribution or we mail directly to the ones photographed, but include handling and postage in our price. I hope those are the answers you were looking for.

I guess you could do it about anyway you want as long as everyone knows in advance. I shot a charity golf outing last yrfor a breast cancer patient and what I did was use a small printer at the site to immediately print and sell 4x6 photos of the golf groups. It was an event raising money for a well know female golfer in San Antonio and I was only one part of the fund raising, I was shuttled around the course with the beneficiary catching up with each foursome. I would grab one quick shot with the group and the beneficiary and asked how many wanted prints. After several groups were shot a runner would take the card back to the clubhouse, with notes as to how many prints of each photo on the card. The finished prints were put into folios and ready for pickup and payment when the foursomes got back for the awards banquet. Since my cousins wife had been a breast cancer victim I was doing this without expecting payment and was donating time and materials, but the organizer insisted I take my material cost back out of the receipts.
