Good Deal? - 04-27-2009, 08:02 PM

So the following ad was posted:

This is a great studio set up for someone just getting started or for someone wanting to add to an existing studio. All items are portable and can be taken on location. I purchased these items about 6 months ago and found that I prefer location photography. Items are in brand new condition......some never used and others used once or twice. Items come from a pet free smoke free home.

Items pictured are similar to the ones listed.

Studio set up includes:
Studio Flash Lighting: 2 7ft light stands, lights, 2 umbrellas
Backdrop or Background Support Stand: can hold paper or muslin backdrops. Has sectional crossbar system. Can adjust to hold various sized backdrops up to 10x24 ft. Muslins.
6x9 green chromakey digital video muslin backdrop
10x20 white muslin backdrop
10x20 black muslin backdrop
5 in 1 collapsible multi disc reflector
carrying bag for studio set up
200 urban digital backgrounds and photoshop textures to use with chromakey backdrop
All easy to set up.

I am able to purchase the whole set for $350, but I have asked twice for her to tell me the brand of lights and have not gotten a response. Any advice, I am supposed to go look at them tomorrow.

She says she prefers shooting on location right after saying everything she's selling is portable and can be taken on location? If she is unresponsive, it either means she is busy, is trying to hide something or has gotten a lot of responses on the items.

I don't know if I'd trust anyone who doesn't have a pet.

Yeah, I would think that she was getting a lot of responses also, but she is supposed to be holding it for me until tomorrow.

I may be wrong, but it sounds a lot like the sets that Cowboy Studio sells.

I don't have enough information here but I will give some supposition. If this is the woman from Wylie, the lights are Alien Bee though I cannot remember the model. I was going to look at them until our IT department got cut by 0.33.
