As soon as I bought mine, prices started dropping like a bag of dirt, the way it usually gos. If not, I don't mind keeping it either though. It's extremely usable.

I might add that when I bought the camera in late 2007, it cost nearly $800 at B&H. It's used but practically brand-new. What a deal!

I borrowed one a few months back to shoot portriats at my daughters banquet....it did well. I thought the manual focus on the lens was a bit cheesy not to mention coarse. It is a deal...so it's body, grip and one 100-300 lens, batteries and small stuff ?

That's what is available, but I've broken up the items and priced them separately hoping to move 'em. I agree with the 18-55 kit lens' shortcomings and ditched it a long time ago ... this camera sings with a high-quality lens (70-200 f/2.8, etc.).

I'd take $500 for the entire lot (savings of $75 off the current individual pricing). Or make me a reasonable offer. I'm motivated to move it!

Biggest drawback I see is nothing to cover the shorter shooting ranges...and my budget won't allow for another lens purchase to fill the gap. BUMMER !!!

The kit lens (the one I called crummy earlier) can be found for $60-$100 used. It's at least worth that much. Sold mine when I graduated to the higher-end ones.
