Isn't that just a shipping item? Do photographers actually put it on and take it off?

I do. The A100 and A700 had a viewfinder cover on the strap that you could snap it into. Very handy. I have used my A700 in the snow and rain too and was glad it was on there.

About all I do is take it off. Throw it in the box or bag for safe keeping till I sell it. Some do worry about the contacts getting dirty but I've never had the problem.

They don't have them. I was in HCE the other day looking at the Sony accessories and didn't see any. CO-OP doesn't seem to want to have anything to do with Sony. I ordered my replacement from Sony Parts and picked it up at the Sony Style store. Cost me $7 for a pair of them for my old Minolta cameras.

Yeah, I could probobly hit up a sony store near me. Should be easy enough.

I don't shoot models or clients, or anything like that in there and never seen a sign that says no and no one has ever said anything to me. I shoot my kids all the time when they go ice skating.
