what can you tell me about the accessory arm. Interested in the arm and platform for reviewing images on set.

I would not need the grip. Does the arm telescope out? can you use both mounting points? does it balance okay on a tripod?

interested!!!!

Mike

Here's more info:

Mounts onto the center column of tripods with 3/8" threads. The platforms feature 3/8" screws, which allows a standard tripod head to be mounted on either or both sides. In addition, the horizontal bar features 3/8" screws on both ends, allowing mounting of tripod heads from the sides. It balances well and you can slide the mounting heads to distribute the weight correctly. It's approximate fixed length is 24" end-to-end.

What is the weight limit of the ball head? Would I have any problems with a gripped D80 or D2h with an older Nikor 70-200 2.8 push pull? No tripod collar on my model :( and that is the longest, and heaviest, lense I own so I figure all others should be fine LOL

I think the load capacity is 13 lbs. It does creep when I use it with my "gripped" D700 and 70-200 at 90 degrees, but does alright with the lighter stuff.

The idea of that accessory arm is actually pretty interesting. With a couple of good heads and cameras, you could line it up to make 3D images.
