Found: 50/1.8 in Austin today or tomorrow - 02-25-2005, 10:13 AM

Title says it. I want it for a shoot on sunday. I'll probably buy it at one of the local stores, but would REALLY prefer not to spend that much. If anyone has one that they're interested in selling today or tomorrow, please drop me an email (munckee@hotmail.com).

If it helps at all, I have a 50/1.4 that I'll be selling as soon as my rebate check arrives (its on step 3, should be here ASAP). Yes, I've considered using this lens on Sunday, but I bought it with the intention of selling it and would rather sell it perfectly new. If anyone is interested in upgrading, I'd be happy to give you first dibs on the 1.4 as soon as I'm ready to sell it (I don't want to lose the box, warranty, etc until I'm certain that my rebate has arrived).

I'm not in Austin, but if you don't work something out, let me know. I'd be interested in trading my f/1.8 plus some cash for the f/1.4.

Sarah, I'll keep that in mind, although I don't know how we'd work that out being in different cities. Let me see what happens here in the next couple of days.

I'm half inclined to keep the 1.4 since its such a good lens, but I really hadn't intended to spend that money. I think I may be better off with a 1.8 and have the rest to put either away or toward something else.

Got what I needed. I'll post the 1.4 FS once my rebate comes through.

wow...

have you used the f1.4 at all? it is truely a nice lens. sure it costs a little more but i love mine...

quicker AF, better AF in low light, better bokeh thanks to a 8 blade aperture vs a 5 blade on the f1.8

Shot ~5 frames with it to test the focus and make sure it worked. Thats it. For ~$200 less, I'll stick to the 1.8 for right now.
