Okay, I've had these for quite awhile. Did a trade out with another photographer for them, and these have been very good for me. But I haven't used these flashes since I switched to a White Lightning 1800 and vagabond battery for on-location shoots last year, so it's time to let them go!
This will be $100 for everything listed below plus shipping (probably the $14 lay flat, because it's all pretty heavy), unless you are in the DFW area where you can come pick them up.
I checked on current Ebay prices for everything, and it would cost you between $175 to $200 currently to get everything you see here.
I have three Vivitar 283's. One of them comes with a Quantum Battery 1 and charger, and this one Vivitar is hard wired in the side with a cord to connect to the Quantum battery, for a longer flash life than the regular AA batteries.
The other two are regular Vivitar 283's. One of them is missing a hot shoe, but they are easy to get on Ebay. I never missed it, as I only used these flashes for OCF. (Also, I was warned not to put these on a modern DSLR camera's hot shoe, as it might overload the electronics).
The best thing of all is that each of these Vivitar's come with Varipower attachments!
The Vivitar 283 is the only old Vivitar flash (I think) who has a detachable front flash power level switch, that can be replaced with the Varipower (these have actual F-stop settings on them to set your flash to!). These Varipowers are VERY rare, as the ones on Ebay are currently going for $35 to $45 EACH! And you get THREE of them! (I have two of the original knobs still that go with the flashes).
You also get two special connector cords, which I had to special order from Vivitar at $15 each, I believe (I remember them being expensive). One cord connects the Vivitar to the Chinese triggers, the other cord connects the Vivitar to a Pocket Wizard. I only used one flash at a time for OFC, which is why there is only one cord for each.
I am also including my old Chinese triggers. One of the main button triggers doesn't work well, and I can't remember which one. These work ok, but were decent enough until I got my Pocket Wizards (which work fine with the Vivitars).
Check out the pictures, too!
