They rock for motocross...you can either mount it on the helmet or even on the bike itself...

You can also get a chest mount.

a fellow ref had one of these on a helmet mount this weekend, and it stood up to multiple paintball hits. I've not seen the video yet, but it didn't look like the case was damaged nor was there any paint inside of it.
