FS: LowePro Vertex 100 ($150) - Lexar CF Card Reader (SOLD) - 02-24-2010, 01:01 PM

I am selling a LowePro Vertex 100. This bag is amazing, but does not fit my gripped A900! It has weather sealed zippers, well padded back and straps, and can carry a 13" laptop. I have not used it enough to keep it around. I'd like to get $150 for it, preferrably local Houston on this one.

I got this thing new a while back and never used it. I have a PC, go figure, and ended up buying the USB model. I forgot I had this until I found it yesterday.

$40 anywhere in TX READER IS SOLD!

I must have had a rebate because the UPC is missing, but everything is included.

Does it have a Firewire adapter or will it accept a Firewire 400 cable? Both of my computers are Firewire 400. If this thing does Firewire 400 I want it. I'll buy it.

PM sent to confirm.

It comes with a 9-pin to 9-pin cable. I can confirm it does NOT work with a 4-pin adapter because the 4-pin does not provide power. It SHOULD work with a 6 pin, but hopefully someone can confirm.

*I am trying to confirm if it will work when plugged into a 6-pin port. If anyone has tried, please let me know.

it DOES work with a 6-9 pin adapter, I can confirm. great card reader, WAY faster than USB 2.0, especially if you're using faster UDMA cards. I can transfer and 8GB card from it to my computer in about 4 minutes.

Wayne is going to count his pins. If he can't use it, it is yours. PayPal is great.

Wayne, here's how you make it work... put the old computer on another table in the room... get a new computer that has Firewire 800 on it... set the new computer on the desk... use the new computer. Isn't that the way all technology works?

Great advice!

I counted little copper bits inside the end of my Firewire cable. I count 3 pairs of contacts on either side to the female conector. Is that a 6 pin arrangement. I coulda shoulda woulda bought this and a 9-6 pin converter.

Next time.
