FS: Canon 5D Mk1,24-105L,70-200 2.8L,430ex,cybersyncs,light stands,vivitar 285hv - 04-08-2010, 04:35 AM

I am quitting so everything is up for grabs. I am located in Austin currently for school and would not mind shipping to whomever. You are also welcome to meet me in person in or around austin. Help a college student out!

Here we go:

Gripped Canon 5D MKI: Has about 8500 clicks on the shutter. Camera is in immaculate shape and all you see are tiny scratches from general wear and tear from a camera body that is a few years old and hot shoe wear. Comes with the original box for both the camera and grip. Comes with 2 batteries, cds, instruction manuals ect. I am looking for $1300 for the body and grip. SOLD

Canon 24-105 F4L IS: lens is in almost perfect condition with just a few nicks on the lens cover. The lens has a UV date code and comes with the hood and carrying bag. Looking for $900.

Canon 70-200 F2.8L: This is the non is version. The lens is absolutely tack sharp as you can see from my automotive pics on my flickr page but the body does show a little wear. The worst is where the tripod ring going because the previous owner turned the lens on the ring so it just scratched up that area. Couple letters are faded up where it says "Canon" near the ring. The lens has a small problem that really isn't that big of a deal. Sometimes (I mean once every like 50 shots) when you focus on something far away, the focusing mechanism will just move back and forth a hair trying to focus. You can fix this by just turning the manual zoom ring to the left a hair, refocus and the lens will go "beep beep beep" and focus on the subject. As I said the lens is TACK sharp. I asked a few people what the problem may be and the consensus is that it is just a calibration problem. The lens is a UM date code which is from 1999, so a calibration issue is just about right. You can fix it for cheap or just leave it as is. Not really that big of a problem. Comes with Tiffen Clear Filter, hood and carrying bag. Asking $850. If this problem is still not clear, it would probably be a lot easier to explain if we spoke over the phone, but really it is a very minor problem and sounds ALOT worse than it actually is. SOLD

Canon 430ex II: Bought it brand new less than a year ago and has been fired probably less than 100 times. Comes with the original box, blank warranty card and other goodies. SOLD

Alienbee Cybersync Receivers and Transmitter: Two CSRB+ receivers and one transmitter. Needs new batteries but I am 100% sure they work. One of the elastic straps on one of the receivers broke but that is a one dollar fix and not really an issue. Comes with the female link up so you can mount it directly from the receivers to your flash. SOLD

Vivitar 285hv: Two Vivitar 285hv. Comes with original boxes, instructions and such. Battery cap has small holes in them for some type of battery mod to make them last longer. SOLD

Giotto LC210 Air cushioned Light Stands: 2x light stands. Only used a few times, basically new. SOLD

Canon LCE5 Battery Charger: Only used a few times. Asking $40.

Automotive Rig: I have my coveted automotive rig for sale as well. Cost me about $475 dollars to build this thing, 2x f1000 suction cups, manfrotto super clamps, manfrotto magic swivel arm, 9 foot aluminum pole along with a 3 foot extension if you need more. This is the apparatus magazines use to create the movement shots of vehicles and you can see the photos on my flickr page. This item will be pick up or drop off only as it is too big to ship. It is currently located in Houston at my house in katy so unless I have a buyer locked up in Houston or Austin, I cannot get it unless I drive back. I am asking for $400. SOLD

Sorry to read of your dismay. There seems to be lots of people offering work for next to nothing on Craigslist, it's affecting you that much?

Yep. pisses me off because 95% of people out there don't know what they are doing and they feel like they do just because they have a DSLR. We've all ran into the "portfolio building" or "testing session" advertisements for free that make us chuckle.

I know what you mean, Justin. What gets me are the photogs with Facebook pages whose work is horrible, yet clients and their friends "ooh" and "aah" over the awful pics. Then there are good photographers who practice horrible customer service (there are at least two recent threads here on that topic).

Yea, it really gets my blood boiling. There are some times where I just want to throw this stuff out the window after reading some of these emails. I use google mail, so my entire email set is saved as a conversation. These people have the gaul to take hours out of my time answering their questions only to never get back to me. I just want to get this stuff sold because it gives me a headache and I am just going to stick to a point and shoot.
