FS: Vivitar 283 Flash/Vivitar 285 Flash - 05-07-2010, 01:58 PM

sold no longer avaialble
Vivitar 283 Auto Thyristor Flash *4aa used flash excellent condition $25.00

with varipower probe, does not include the battery holder for the 4 aa's.

ViVitar 285HV with Auto Thyristor and Zoom. does not include the battery holder for the 4 aa's. $45.00
Battery holder for 4 aa can be purchased on ebay for $3.99 or just buy/use the rechargeable battery pack.

works great with the Quantum Battery power pack with house current AC charger and flash adapter for $100.00, perfect for this flash system and eliminates buying aa batteries.

The 283 is the VW bug of flash guns;a die hard that keeps going.

Makes for a great fill flash indoors with studio set or secondary outdoors.

It is powerful enough for most situations and with some understanding of how to setup and use its thyristor settings it is still useful as an on camera flash.

285 will fry any new DSLR if used as a on-camera flash.

285HV will not =)
