I think you would be hard pressed to find a company these days willing to disclose private info just because a person calls in and says their stuff has been stolen. All they need is for the caller to confront and someone gets hurt, etc. Let law enforcement handle it, it's what they do...

I'm talking about confirmed registered owners.

Boyfriend registers iPod for girlfriend. They break up. Ex-girlfriend claims abuse. Hides. Ex-boyfriend locates with Apples help. Problem.

The worst that could be imagined could come true, so I can't say I disagree.

I'm glad you were able to recover your things. Nothing makes me more upset than someone stealing something valuable (monetarily or otherwise) only to sell it for pennies on the dollar.

I almost never leave my camera in the car with me. I know its unavoidable sometimes, but i'm not ashamed to walk in stores with my camera backpack. It looks silly to some, but so would my sad face is my gear was stolen.

Congrats for getting your gear back TC.
