WTB: Canon Bodies & EF Mount Lenses - DONE FOR THE YEAR! THANKS! - 10-21-2010, 09:34 AM

Thanks to all that helped me with this endeavor this year. We ended up getting three students camera bodies. A couple of those were with grip and lenses. And Rod generously threw in an extra compact flash card and then shipped a 420EX which made for one happy student photo editor in my program!

Thank you all so much

It is that time of year again! Christmas is right around the corner and my students are chomping at the bit to get cameras. Parents have asked me to find cameras bodies and lenses for presents for multiple students.

So here is what we are looking for:
  1. Canon x0D series bodies - 5D's and 1D series if priced right are not out of the question either - SORRY NO REBELS!
  2. EF mount lenses - Canon, Sigma, Tamron...but need to be f/2.8...no kit lenses - ONLY EXCEPTION Canon 70-200 f/4L
  3. Grips
  4. Batteries
  5. EX Series Speedlites.

If you are selling any of these please contact me ASAP. I have one parent that is ready to buy now. And several others that will purchase if I can find the right rig for their child.

You are restricting the lenses to 2.8 or faster? I can see no kit lenses, but there are many good lenses that are not that fast. Is this because they must be capable of low light shooting?

Well actually we don't want the 3.5-5.6 type. They have to shoot in school settings most of the time where light is not always great...and also they have to be able to complete some assignments with very shallow DOF.

But if someone has a 70-200 f/4...I would go for that.

I have a 50d that is sitting around (Ask my wife and she will say I have 2-50d's and a 5d mkii sitting around).
I would be willing to part with it for $600. It is is good condition and has 25k-30k shots on it.
I really don't want to part with it but I could use the money right now.

I also have an Canon 85mm 1.8 rarely used. My wife bought on impulse this spring.
I would take $250 for it.

Would you be interested in a Sigma 100 - 300 f4 APO HSM IF lens? I have used this lens only a few times because I bought the Canon 300 f4 lens. This is a very good lens if you are interested in this zoom range.

Bill I would if we didn't already have a 120-300 f2.8 in our closet.

I have 4 new Sterlingtek batteries I purchased for my 40D (BP511 - 7.4v/2000mAh) that have never been out of the box. They are a couple years old.

shameless bump 10-27 to keep this up. We are in the process of purchasing two bodies and a couple of lenses. Thanks folks for the support! I will make sure to post some pics or the student with their newly acquired gear when they receive it.

We had a deal that fell apart on us. I have a student and parent that is really interested in purchasing at least a body soon. She is wanting a 40D or a 50D depending on the price. Please PM me if you have anything.

Several of you have sent me messages and I have them in a list. I am gonna give it a couple of more days to get some other prices before we make the next deal. Thanks!

Well, every lens I own is f2.8 or faster. I can't think of a lens (excluding the 500mm and longer lenses) I'd really want that is any slower. What about the ts-e lenses? They might be slower than f2.8, so there's another exception...
