Yashica Lens DSB Zoom 70-210mm 1:4 - made in Japan - 2 caps - in clean, gently used condition. Lens comes with a retractable lens hood.

Lens details:
1) This is a constant maximum aperture lens. The maximum allowed aperature is at f4 for all zoom range. Aperature selection range is f4 to f22.
2) It is a well made lens with mostly metal parts.
3) With appropriate adapter, this lens can be mounted to most modern Digital SLR cameras. I use a Contax/Yashica to Canon EOS (C/Y to EOS) adapter to mount this lens on my Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D) and T2i (550D). The picture quality is astonishingly good.
4) To use on Digital SLR, you can use Aperture Priority (Av) or Manual (M) mode to achieve metering. You will need to manually focus through the camera viewfinder. Please check this interesting article: Manual lenses with EOS cameras
5) I would like to sell this because I have several Yashica lenses covering about the same zoom range.
6) You need to buy seperate adapter if you want to use this lens on Canon EOS or other DSLR camera. You can use this lens directly to Contax or Yashica film camera with C/Y mount.

Q: Is there any scratch or fog on the front and rear glasses? Is there any damage to the body, lens mount, filter thread? Does it zoom and focus smooth but tight? Does the aperture operate in both manual and A/P mode?

A: There is no scratch/fog/haze on either front or rear lens glasses. There is no damage/dent on the body, mount, filter thread. The zoom is smooth with good handling feeling, neither tight nor loose. I use this lens on my Canon 350D/550D body, and the aperature works well under Manual and A/P(Av) Mode. You have to use maximum aperature for focus and stop down metering/taking picture.
