FS: Homemade Studio Shooting Table (Houston Only) - 12-08-2010, 03:06 PM

We decided to move into a smaller space and most of my shooting has changed to location stuff. If anyone is interested in this table, let me know. I can save you all the work and some cash. I'd just like to recover some monies for the parts. Original thread is here...
http://www.texasphotoforum.com/forum...otography.html

In the end, parts cost me $400 including the plexi top which runs about $90 at Regal Plastics here in Houston. One corner of the plexi is cracked but it's still usable. I'd probably try a 3/16" instead of 1/8" next time so it flexes a little easier.
Would like $250 for everything.

A couple allen wrenches is all you need to take apart/put back together.

Located in downtown houston near Last Concert Cafe.

Yes, similar design but that thing is tiny and flimsy compared to mine.
There's lots of cheap ones out there, I had one at one time.

If you were in DFW I would try and get this for work (would also take some convincing to my employer to pay for it as well), I'm taking product shots all the time. Good luck with the sale.

Ok, first of all... no. Not possibly. For a fact yes. Look at the dimensions then look at the Manfrotto one from B&H that mine is modeled after. The one you posted might be good for sticking in a corner of your bedroom and shooting rings and matchbox cars, but the Manfrotto one from B&H is a commercial quality table. I have one in my day job studio and use it daily. I've had one of the smaller cheap ones and there is NO comparison. The one I'm selling is the same size as the Manfrotto with the same size tubing, same plexi top, and just as strong. Mine is just not quite as refined cosmetically, but it works and is worth the price if that's the kind of table you are looking for.

Second, what is your point and why are you posting in my FS thread? You are in violation of TPF rules.

If you think you can find something else for cheaper that works for you (in a different city than my item no less), then go buy it. Just don't junk up my thread when you obviously don't know what you are talking about. If you really feel I'm off base, PM me privately.

Here's a few examples of things shot on this table. Just the table and studio strobes. NO TENTS! Easy peasy! Nice sweep and control over reflections.

And here's a set-up shot of the manfrotto table it's modeled after, that I also have access to.

I really wish I had room in my house for this. The plexi is 4x8'?

Ya, 4x8.
Technically though... you could just cut down the pvc pieces to what ever size you need to shrink the overall size of the table. I've never cut plexi before, but i'm sure a quick google search would help with that. I mention that one corner is cracked anyway. So you might want to think about that?

I'd like the bigger size to give more working space, I just have a small house with kid #2 on the way so space is very limited. If I could get the wife's motorcycle sold I could put it in the garage...

Ya, the size is nice. About as big as one would want to go.
But thanks for reminding me that it's easily customizable.
