Thats what we do on the automotive forum I am a mod on. We got tired of trying to get people to follow the simple rules. Delete and hope they get it right. If they don't or they get stupid, perma-ban it is.

I think a uniform "form" would be a great solution. If that is a possibility.

If that is not possible then I say just delete it with a note of why it was deleted so the folks know what needs to be done to post it properly. I'm guessing that most folks don't do it maliciously.

I think this is a great solution. Most people that posst here are going to read and follow the rules anyway. Why make the mod's have to work extra to corect or track infractions...just delete and have an automatic notice sent to the offender that it was deleted and have it contain a link to the rules for posting.

I prefer this option and it works effectively for many boards; they even have standards for closing threads in image forums on car boards. They don't delete it, they close it post the link to the rules and then lock it.
