Nikon D3 or possibly D700 - 03-10-2011, 08:04 AM

Item is: FOUND:
Make: Nikon
Model: D3 or D700
Price: Depends on model offered

I am looking for a D3 or possibly a D700. I had a deal worked out with a guy in Ft. Worth but he emailed last night late to inform me that he has another buyer that is offering "closer to his asking price". The thing is that I offered his actual asking price and I noticed he has raised it now after agreeing to the deal with me. Nice. Whatever.

So after going through the hassle of securing a loan and scrounging extra money to come up with the amount, I am left with a deal that probably isn't going to happen.

Looking to find a decent deal on a D3 or possibly a D700. Would like for it to be close enough for me to drive there to see it in person to verify condition and shutter count, etc... and make the deal in person, in cash.

The plan is to drive to the Dallas area on Friday or possibly Saturday if I can locate the pieces I am looking for.

I am also looking for a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens - I can't really afford the VR2 but it would be nice, but will most likely have to settle on the VR1, but if you know of or have a VR2 that you want to make a deal on, please let me know and I will iee f I can swing that instead. Though it might be an uphill road for me at this point.

Also looking for a Wide/Zoom - 24-70mm f/2.8 or possibly "The Tank" 28-70mm f/2.8.

Please post up or PM with what you have and the condition, description, and your price and some pics.

Thanks,
Todd

I have a very low shutter count D3, around 1500 if memory serves, and also a D700. I am interested in purchasing a D3s so one of these two cameras will have to go. Both cameras look as new and function flawlessly. The D3 has the desirable grid focusing screen. I would need 3200 for the D3/Box,Ect. The D700 has the MB-D10 Grip as well as Box, Ect. I would be at 2250 for the D700. I also have "The Beast" 28-70 2.8 af-s for $1100.
I am a long way away. (Northwest Houston) If you are still interested I can give you the exact information on shutter counts and could take a couple of snapshots. My camera equipment is meticulously cared for and is in a near new condition.
Just let me know.
Kevin

There is a chance I might head to Houston to pick up something , so that might work. Are you pretty firm on the prices?

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. I feel the prices are very close to the average price for the condition, so frankly I don't have a big incentive to reduce them much, but we may be able to reach a deal on a body and lens combo. I do know this, once you see the condition, I think you will see the value.
PM me if you wish and I will send you my phone number and we can discuss possibilities.
Thank you,
Kevin
