Sony a200 plus lenses flash and bag - 04-22-2011, 09:31 PM

Item is: FS:
Model: a200, 2xi, Sigma 530 Super
Price: $575 for it all
Location: Liberty

I have a complete Sony/Minolta system for sale.
Sony a200 with 18-70 kit lens and 4 gig cf card- $275
Minolta 50mm 1.7- $50
Minolta 70-210mm 4.5-5.6- $60
Sigma EF-530 DG Super- $175
Minolta 2xi film camera- $25
Case Logic Backpack Camera bag- $25

The Sony has about 10,000 clicks. I bought the Minolta 2xi with the 50mm about 18 years ago. The a200 is about two and a half years old. The Sigma flash was bought new in April 2009. The 70-210 was bought used last summer at the HCE.
Everything works great. I decided last year to buy Nikon gear and now the Sony just does not get used much. Individually the items total up to $610 if some one wants it all I will let it go for $575.

Liberty is east of Houston. While I would rather not ship I am willing to meet a buyer in the Houston area. I'm used to having to drive a ways for anything that isn't Amazoned. If you are within a couple of hours of Houston I am willing to meet halfway if that helps anyone. And if I meet up with a buyer they can try everything out and verify that all works as advertised.

But if you sell on eBay won't you end up shipping?

I don't blame you for not wanting to ship, but given the limited Sony user base it may be difficult to get a sale. I have shipped stuff worldwide because of that, but also would prefer to sell face to face, which I have also done with some lenses.

If I had the money...i'd be all over this. After using Nikon, Canon, Olympus, and Sony DSLR's, the sony was my favorite and I got the most consistent results from the sony. I may get one again someday, but unfortunately all my funds are going towards medium format film at the moment.

Yeah ebay means shipping for sure. But I posted here first to see if I could avoid shipping and avoid ebay. What with ebay mainly being a store front for buisnesses and their paypal ownership I would prefer to avoid it. But i want to move this. We are planning on moving soon and have been junking the junk and I decided I needed to bite the bullet and sell the not junk. I may wait a few more days before moving it to ebay.

Yeah I liked the Sony, but when i decided I wanted more stuff looking at the different offering from the different manufacturers Sony had high end and low end lenses and not much in between. Also the used market for Sony is sparse compared to Nikon or Canon. When I bought the Nikon equipment it came down to where I thought Sony would be in ten years as opposed to the big 2. Sony makes good hardware but really, do they think beyond one generation of manufacturing? Not just cameras but in all the electronics they build. It looks like they throw it against the wall and don't even look at what sticks. They just make something new and sling it again.

Can't argue with you there. The midrange is sorely lacking right now, and with the NEX and SLTs it does seem to be missing a clear path. I do still love my gear though, but like you said, I had to go straight to the high end or get Minolta lenses.
