Exclamation MUST READ: Buy/Sell Section Rules! - 01-03-2006, 06:07 PM

--------------------------------
Buy/Sell Section Rules
--------------------------------

1) Your Access Can Be Revoked
Any members that continually ignore the following the rules listed below can and will have their Buy/Sell Section privileges revoked. Meaning they will no longer have access to the section in order to buy or sell any items.

On your 3rd offense in not following any of these rules, your Buy/Sell Section access will be revoked. Period.

2) NO Price Policing
Price Policing in the Buy/Sell Section is prohibited. If a price seems too high on a particular item, either ignore it and move one or you can kindly PM the seller and mention that might be the case and let them be aware of it. Either way, calling out a member publicly is not tolerated.

3) Post a Price
All For Sale listings in this section MUST accompany an asking price for the item.

4) NO Gear Renting/Rental
There will be NO "Want To Rent:" type threads looking to rent equipment from other members. This opens up the person renting the equipment to a whole lot of risk.

5) Pixtus Member Goods For Sale ONLY
ONLY items belonging to TPF members themselves will be allowed to be listed in the Buy/Sell section. This is the only way to ensure that none of our member base has the misfortune of potentially getting ripped off.

6) NO Software Sales whatsoever.
Due to priracy concerns it has been decided to not allow software sales of any kind.

7) No Auction Listings
No linking your eBay items here on the forum. If it's up for auction already then it is not allowed to be listed here.

8) Bumping of Threads
Do not bump your own thread/listing if it still remains on the first full page of the Buy/Sell Section. The only exception is if you are lowering the price then you can update the original thread and then create a post stating you just lowered the price.

--------------------------------
How to list items on Pixtus
--------------------------------

1) Explanation of Prefixes

LEGEND
FS: = For Sale
FT: = For Trade
WTB: = Wanting To Buy

Once you've sold/found your items please edit the thread as show in the photos below to reflect one of these options:

SOLD:
FOUND:
TRADED:
CLOSED:

Once sold, DO NOT REMOVE ANY OF THE POSTING/TEXT; just change the thread information.

2) How to fill out form

This is how you fill out the form when creating a new thread.

If so then thump me to, I also thought that was the case.

Why change the 25 post rule? I thought it was reasonable. TPF is still very safe, but the 25 post requirement just helped, I thought. Sure beats NikonCafe with a 300 post minimum.

On another thought, is there anyway to emphasize to put the legend for a sale item in the title? With the new system, more and more people are forgetting to put FS in the title. It makes it a lot easier to see what is what at a glance in the forum, AND, more importantly, is the only way to tell what is what in the email digest. In the email, there is no way to tell what is FS or WTB.

Is someBODY or someTHING changing my postings taking out the FS? I have been including the FS for people on the digest so it can be seen that the item is for sale, but the FS keeps disappearing?!?!?!?!

I remove the manually added prefixes since we have a system in place where you select the prefix.

I am still working on a way to get the prefixes included in digests..

Hmmm. Anyway to leave the manually added prefixes in the mean time? A double prefix doesn't bother me.

nope. sorry... we're trying to establish a set procedure and having some include it and not include it will make a mess of things in the section...

sorry.

Well, you might want to edit the instructions above. It is a little vague still. "Once you've sold/found your items please edit the thread and use one of the following tags in the beginning of the thread title."

Sorry for being so slow, but the only edit button I can find in the thread is the one that edits the post. Where is the edit button you are referring to?

There is only one Edit button, when you click on it, there is another button for Advanced. That will take you to another screen as if you were creating a new post.
