Hello guys.

Now I want to give it a try for sony and their glasses!!!
I have been sticking only with nikon canon.... And i heard sony is great too!!
If any one out there want Canon flag ship with awesome burst, lets trade!!!

I got 1d mk3 and 24-70L(around 10000 clicks. I am a second owner) and metz 58af(great WB and second strobe in front). I want your a900 and lens(s). Strobe is not a must. I can just use another lens

All are in great condition as photography is my hobby. Not a job.
Only used occationally (like my friends kid's birthday. Or weddig-snaps...)

I am at work. And posting with my phone. So i can post pix tonight.
If you are interested shoot me pm or text at 713-483-4nine4three.

I got boxes too. And extra battery.
Yellow dot. No oil issue with my body. -- Correction!!!! i just double checked any mine is actually yellow dot...559xxx serial.
no oil / focusing issue starting yellow dot...sorry for confusion.

Good chance for someone to see if the grass is greener. No one will get my A900 from me until I have a new Sony full frame.

Hi groovyone!!
I have used d700 and 5d mkii. Comparing these two vs a900, what's big advantage for a900??(still learning :p)
I didnt like 5d mk2 due to focusing...
1d mk3 is super fast amd greAt neutral color. But 1.3 sensor .... I miss full frame. Lol

I have only briefly used a D700 and 1D III so I am not sure how much I can help. I can offer my take on the 900 since mine is approaching 3 years old. The A900 has an amazing dynamic range in the lower ISOs, and the 24MP resolution is really fantastic if you like to print large. If you don't go over 300-400mm, the lens selection is better than most give it credit for. I LOVE my Zeiss AF lenses, and they are all stabilized thanks to the in-cam IS. The VF is stunning. AF wise the D700 probably kicks its butt. I think it is a bit quicker than the 5D II, and the center point works very well in very low light. For me the ergos of the A900 are great. I love the control and the layout.

It really depends on what you plan of shooting the most. A900 rules the low ISOs but gets behind around ISO1600, but you do have to remember you are looking at 24MP of resolution and 100% comparisons to the D700/D3 are a wee bit misleading.

Just my thoughts.

I a curious why you went with a 1D3 over a 1Ds3 due to you wanting FF. I understand the price difference but were you not aware the 1D3 was a crop sensor when you got it? I just got a 5D2 (up graded form 5D1) and don't seem to have any more problems with focusing that I didn't already have with the 5D1. It seems to hunt some depending on the contrast of the image but the 5D1 did that too so it was nothing to me.

GL with the trade though.... I love my 1D3's to death and will never part with them till I get canons next sport pro body camera.

I love my mkiii.
And the reason why i changed from 5d mkii was i was disappointed with focusing with 9 spots. (i used d700 right before 5d mkii) if i use focus point at far right on 5d mk2 sometimes it misses focusing some times.

I knew its crop body but at that time of change i needed better focusing with faster process. Now i need portrait camera as i dont shoot sports anymore.

Keith is 100% correct...I made the jump a little over two years ago...and have not looked back...not only are the Zeiss ZA lenses a must...but the Minolta G and APO lens are spot on...when I made my move...Minolta/Sony lenses were a bit more reasonable...that has since changed...

Before you give-up one of your camera's if you want to make a trek out to Katy next week for a few hours...I can let you play with my a900 and a few lenses...this may help you make the jump or may not...but before you do at least you can play with one...honestly...you'll want it...

My take...I like the 24MP so that I can crop images and still have a viable file...also...it does give you a sharper image...and better coloring than my Nikons I have owned...part of that is due to the camera...and part of it is due to the Minolta lenses that I use...

Couple of tid-bits....find these lenses for under $600 total...and it will get you started with this camera...

Minolta 50 1.7
Minolta 70-210 f4 Beercan
Minolta 35-70 f4
Tokina 28-80 2.8

You can pick these up fairly cheap...and with the macro adjustment inside the camera for each of these lenses...you can make them spot on...and keepers...

Like Keith said...I would not give up my a900...even with the new FF around the corner...I'll probably turn my a900 into an IR camera one of these days...

Here is one at a good price...eBay a900 for $2100.00 buy-now & $25.00 shipping...

If I trade...I am in trouble because I have to get a whole new line-up of lenses...so if we trade...we trade for everything...and ask Keith...you don't want to know what I have in my closet..!!!

lol we all do. I have played with Sony and it's a great camera but like the nikons I do not like the ergonomics of the bodies. This was one of my main reasons for sticking with Canon. I would love to help you out but dont really need 3 1D3's lol.

I will say this though... I am quite envious of the Zeiss glass with AF capability. As a MicroPaleontologist I have used many different microscopes and the optics that Zeiss puts out is amazing.
