Question My Nikon, Your Canon - 08-11-2011, 02:50 PM

Item is: TRADED:
Make: Nikon
Model: 80-200 2.8 AF-D, 50mm 1.8
Price: apples to apples
Location: Austin
State: TX
Shipping: Will Ship

While I have fought the good fight for Nikon, my company has decided to go with Canon for V-DSLR needs, so it looks like I will be switching too. I have a 2-ring (not push-pull) 80-200 2.8 AF-D that I would like to trade for a 70-200 2.8 L (non-IS) and a nifty-fifty for a likewise 50/1.8. Is anyone in a similar situation switching to Nikon?

Thanks for looking!
-Kyle

Don't do it !
It's like a sex change.
Nikon to Canon is like Female to Male.
The other way makes more sense.
crazeazn, bluman95, Snarfy and 1 others like this.

Blake,

sorry - I just finished trading everything yesterday. Congratulation on the switch to Nikon!

Well i had the 50D, and i switched to the nikon 300d, and even though there is a 3mp less difference the 300d blows the 50d out of water on quality. And i dont need high mp or fast shutter speed, cuz im more portrait photographer.

At the end of the day, I hope both companies continue to make great cameras - when there is strong competition, the consumers win. I made the switch because I will be shooting a good bit of video with a team of Canon shooters, so it made sense to have the same file formats and options. On the other hand, as a still camera, I have been a bit underwhelmed so far. For example, my older Nikon cameras seemed to have a much more accurate autofocus system than my brand new Canon.
