Date of Purchase: Purchased new on 08/13/2005

Reason For Sale: This lens was my work horse for 5 1/2 + years. After some extreme heavy usage over that period of time the lens is a tad bit soft.

Back in June of 2008 the Canon Factory Service Center replaced the 1ST GROUP LENS ASSEMBLY because of a scratch on the front element. While it was at the repair center I also had them "tune it up" it bring it back to good working order. Total cost of parts, labor and tax equaled $583.

I've lowered the price to a ridiculous $800 in case you feel the need to send it back to the service center for another "tune up".
