Greg: I guess I am going to wait awhile for buying this lens. It may be a good deal, but we've been spending a lot lately so I am going to take a break. Thanks for the offer, though! :-)

Abel: Thanks for the tip, I don't mind lugging the tripod around. I lugged it up and down the Las Vegas strip for days! I do wonder, though, why do you need to minimize movement with a cable release when shooting animals? Your shutter speed should be very fast so as to eliminate that problem, right? Or do you mean perhaps nudging the camera slightly out of the composition you wanted?

Ive just gotten used to using it when shooting on a tripod… especially since my ball head isn’t the sturdiest of them all. I just feel more comfortable using the remote release when shooting animals etc. some people like them and some prefer not to use them at all. Its just personal preference.

If 200mm is not long enough you can use it with a 1.4X extender. I used mine with the Sigma model and it worked great. Let me know if you want to see pictures taken at 280mm.
Greg, would you mind sending some of those pictures my way with the 1.4x extender.

I will be showing the lens to LoungeLizard on Sunday. If he decides he does not want it, you would be next. I'll keep you posted.
